A ton of things to talk about this game. The Wolves won on two Kevin Love foul shots that shouldn't have happened. Some tremendously questionable calls all night from the officials. Some players played bad. Some players didn't. The important thing is, the Sixers have lost three in a row.
I need some time to process.
Vent.

Hey look, it's Lance's alternate account!
Seriously, it is. Nice of you to randomly join the blog 6 minutes ago. I’m sure a comparison of your IP addresses would also match you up.
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
Does your butt hurt?
Child soldier Frank Jaeger - February 19, 2012
Yep. It’s definitely Lance.
Justin F. - February 19, 2012
Canis poster – Yeah, I recognize the handle.
Seriously, I’m sorry about this guy. CH does cross-link to other boards at the top of game threads, and I guess the people who can’t post on Canis itself get lonely or something.
I skimmed your game thread at one point, and you’ve got good posters. (Yep, Pekovic is often guilty of moving screens. He got called on those forever last year. Toss in 3-second violations and you know why he couldn’t stay on the floor.)
This one was an escape for the Wolves. I guess those happen. Our wing situation, though, next to yours…. Is painful. Check out Wesley Johnson’s line tonight. We’re begging you, please send us a SG or SF, out of charity.

Only for you.
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
I thought it took a day for you to join a blog before you were cleared to post?

When is Collins gonna hand it over to Jrue at the end of the game? I HATE ISOS THAT END UP IN JUMPERS DRIVEEEEEEEE
LeJclair1 - February 19, 2012
Why didn't Lou just throw the ball at the rafters instead of taking the shot? by then time it came down mad scrabble game over
pb111 - February 19, 2012
wolves fan here
I wondered that same thing for a while there. You never see it done, but you could definitely kill most, if not all, of those extra 4 seconds with a high toss.
Maybe it’s illegal?
TO12 - February 19, 2012 via iPhone app
Rubio did it maybe 5 games back, not illegal, its just no one ever does it

That happened like 5 weeks ago.

F*** everything.
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
I’m convinced no team gets screwed more then the sixers
scarhart3 - February 19, 2012
I don’t understand why Lou took that shot. I just don’t get it. There was time left on the shot clock. This is so frustrating. Love was not fouled at the end. terrible, terrible call. Just a disaster.
jefu - February 19, 2012
Even worse...
They didn’t put any time back on the clock.
soman319 - February 19, 2012
Sixers are now 14-29 over the last 2 seasons in games decided by 7 or less.
mrprice33 - February 19, 2012
I think.. I’m a little too pissed to go back and count them all.
mrprice33 - February 19, 2012
They’re the anti-Mavericks
TheNarrator19 - February 19, 2012
Love was clearly fouled.
I don’t see how that was hard to miss for you guys. It’s okay though. You’re still #1 in the division so why you are all crabbin about being the most screwed team in the league is freaking hilarious.
WildWolves - February 19, 2012
I agree. Iggy reached in and tugged at his jersey. Dumb foul.
splinter27 - February 19, 2012
No jersey tug. Photo.
Michael Levin - February 19, 2012
no tug then
but defs a reach
Bob Mcflallergy - February 19, 2012
why? He got all ball!
mrprice33 - February 19, 2012
Touching the basketball is not a foul.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
I just zoomed in on that picture.
He got him on the arm as well.
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
I’m not sure you’re looking at the same photo…
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
Love’s elbow is at his hip. Just making sure you realize that when looking at the photo.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
If that was the only thing that happened it was a bad call
However, I think that if we watch it in motion we may see something different. There was a lot of contact on the way to the basket
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
no.
jefu - February 19, 2012
Okay?
What if you watch it and things look different?
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
then I would get my eyes checked.
jefu - February 19, 2012
oh look, you happen to be a wolves fan trolling on here. Loser.
jefu - February 19, 2012
How is that trolling? I am asking an honest question because IN MOTION it looked like there was a foul
I am well aware of star calls and think they are BS. That looked like a foul.
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
How are you trolling? WHY ARE YOU HERE?
STOPPER19 - February 19, 2012
I wanted to see what your guys' reaction to that call was?
I also was reading this as the game went on. I like to get different perspectives during these games.
A more simple answer may be: I am here to discuss this game.
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
Oh yes, you just want a civil discussion. I see. You are not a troll at all. I was wrong the whole time.
jefu - February 19, 2012
Yup...
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
We don’t think it was a foul.
Michael Levin - February 19, 2012
The game thread was trolled and is continuing to be trolled by some Minnesota guy. You’re in murky waters now
TheNarrator19 - February 19, 2012
Well aware. He does this every game and it sometimes gets fanbases riled up
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
And this was already a riled up fanbase
TheNarrator19 - February 19, 2012
From what? You guys seem to be having a pretty great year thus far
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
From a referee who was making pretty bad calls for the majority of the game.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
Our own team taking bad shots, being dumped on by the media, losing close games, and the occasional dubious foul call
TheNarrator19 - February 19, 2012
it’s a troll question. please stop denying it. it’s not somethign that can be legitimitely argued. You are here to troll.
jefu - February 19, 2012
It is a legitimate question
I am not that Lance guy or whatever. Please note that he is banned from canis hoopus and that we are not all here to piss you guys off
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
I’m universally OK with fans of other teams coming here. This guy does not seem terrible. Let us treat him as such.
Michael Levin - February 19, 2012
I’ve seen it in motion at least 5 times already. Things do not look different.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
he’s clearly on his arm in that photo
Bob Mcflallergy - February 19, 2012
clearly a reach, and there was more too his reach than a freezeframe. A lot of teams wouldn’t get hit with that call, but it was a clear foul, and a really dumb one at that.
splinter27 - February 19, 2012
You’re just way off base.
jefu - February 19, 2012
if evan turner did it then it wouldn’t be a foul, right?
jefu - February 19, 2012
We all see through biased eyes.
However, its just a culmination of a lot of poor fouls against us and none for us over the course of the year.
soman319 - February 19, 2012
Wolves fan here as well. I'm not a homer with ref opinions (Barea is a flopper) but that as a foul.
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
You are a jerk. IT was all ball. Go back to your little world were your team stinks. We were ripped off
champion64 - February 19, 2012
This is a legitimate question...
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
because you can’t decide basketball games with scrabble…come on man.
mrprice33 - February 19, 2012
This is true.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
If you fail to hit the rim they reset the clock to the time when the 24 sec clock expired.
But he did shoot 2 sec too early.
tk76 - February 19, 2012
If the ball hasn’t touched anything when the game clock expires, the game is over.
Derek Bodner - February 19, 2012
Sixers struggle to the low 90s against a poor defensive team. If this team could score 100 occassionally they might actually win a game.
Brannigan1973 - February 19, 2012
the guy who helped us score 100 during the early part of the season
is wearing a boot
YBT - February 19, 2012
That was a really small sample
TheNarrator19 - February 19, 2012
If we need Spencer Hawes to score 100 once in a blue moon we should just gut this team now. This Minnesota team is smallish and not at all that athlectic. General odds say that even the worst offensive team occassionally has a hot night. Unfortunately this teams offense is so bad its challenging the laws of science.
Brannigan1973 - February 19, 2012
you know 100 points has additional factors like pace, right?
mrprice33 - February 19, 2012
Getting FTs helps you get to 100 too.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
So you are telling me that the slow pace they play at is the only reason they never hit 100? They are shooting about 40% from the field over the last five or six games and it doesn’t help that they can’t draw free throws. 100 is just a round number. 95 would have won it. You telling me this teams offense hasn’t been brutal lately? There percentages have been awful. They shot 44% tonight and 27% on 3’s and shot 10 free throws. Try explaining that away to pace.
Brannigan1973 - February 19, 2012
by my math their offensive efficiency was 103 for the game. about 88 possessions.
mrprice33 - February 19, 2012
Statistically the Wolves are pretty average at defense. Then again, they play in the West.

jefu - February 19, 2012
Nothing new
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
You have to take it to the rack to get fouled. The Sixers with the exception of Lou Williams and sometimes Igouda see to go away from contact on drives. They also shoot tons of long 2’s.
Brannigan1973 - February 19, 2012
Jrue was taking it to the hoop all game
TheNarrator19 - February 19, 2012
Have to give Jrue credit for doing a better job with this tonight.
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
Jrue had a goose egg from the line.
How many free throws did he shoot? Im talking about drawing fouls.
Brannigan1973 - February 19, 2012
Part of that is he wasn’t getting calls.
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
“you have to take it to the rack to get fouled”
Jrue did that and got no calls

CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
Joining a blog after that team loses and telling their fans that they are wrong can easily be seen as trolling by some.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
I joined every team's blog right when the season started
And I generally post on other team’s boards during or after games.
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
Just giving you some perspective on why there was some backlash to your statements.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
fair enough but to us...
It’s rubbing salt in wounds. We see the call as we see it (i know this sounds confusing) and considering the amount of bad calls that have gone against us over the course of the season, its just getting ridiculous even if this was or was not the right call.
soman319 - February 19, 2012
I don't follow this team and was thus not aware
I’m not rubbing in salt at all.
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
We’ve been on the wrong end of a Violet Palmer powertrip, had a terribly officiated game against division rival New York Knicks pre-Linsanity, among other things.
I am not suggesting one way or another how this compares to other teams. I do follow enough teams day in and day out to know. But the Sixers have been done in by awful officiating more than once this season, and as a result, has kind of become a bit of a sore subject around here.
Justin F. - February 19, 2012
This.
I wasn’t trying to accuse you of being a troll because I don’t think you are. However, you just are just on the bad end of a vent. I
soman319 - February 19, 2012
I don’t think you never accused me of being a troll. :)
But if that was meant for CoffeeJanitor, then yeah, I understand. I don’t believe he is a troll (that’s Lance and his 82,000 other accounts), but I am not sure he realized how much of a sore subject bad officiating has been around these parts.
Justin F. - February 19, 2012
lol i meant CJ
soman319 - February 19, 2012
Violet Palmer is the worst thing to happen in this world
I actually think there are some decent refs in the league now but she is on a short list of them that need to be fired.
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
She was on a power trip and made 2 absolutely horrid calls that basically turned the game around in the opposing teams favor. The second was seriously because Evan Turner touched the opposing player
soman319 - February 19, 2012
yet, you were.
jefu - February 19, 2012
The star will always get that call.
tk76 - February 19, 2012

My LWHAI is at red.
soman319 - February 19, 2012
There were a number of improvements that game
Jrue being first and foremost. I thought ET improved.
Boss needs to be reigned in big time. Its long overdue, he should run a mile for every 3 he heaves where he is more than 1 ft outside the 3 pt line.
Meeks needs to get benched for a bit at this point.
Brand needs more than a few days off. He is fine defensively but he cant shoot the ball at all. Give his thumb some time to heal.
salviati - February 19, 2012
Jrue was attacking the rim that’s a plus. He took more than 2-3 “wtf” shots. That was a minus.
ET played well when he was in…. he didn’t play enough though.
Boss, unfortunately, won’t be reigned in. It doesn’t make sense but I’m losing faith in Doug Collins.
soman319 - February 19, 2012
Never had faith, but glad to see others are coming aboard.
splinter27 - February 19, 2012
After blaming losses on lack of free throws and questionable coaching decisions, I’ll blame the ref in this game.
secondroundpick - February 19, 2012
Can the Sixers file an appeal/complaint with the league for clock mismanagement?
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
Andy Reid is an asst coach
soman319 - February 19, 2012
How the frick can you be disappointed in Turner when he doesn't play enough to warrant it?
soman319 - February 19, 2012
Was thinking the same thing
TheNarrator19 - February 19, 2012
Turner was playing much better to start the season then he got a injury and struggled a bit and Doug deepsixed him and totally killed his confidence. I’m not going to totally blame Doug because Turner has take some responsibility but its obvious to me Turner is the type of player you have to stick with and stay positive with if you want results. We can’t afford for him to turn out to be anything less then a decent starter at some point.
Brannigan1973 - February 19, 2012
I'm going to make a Jeremy Lin observation here.
Lin has said that once he stopped worry about making mistakes and just playing the game, he started playing well. He’s exploded onto the scene because he’s playing with confidence and isn’t afraid to make/miss a shot or commit a turnover.
Turner doesn’t have that same luxury. Collins holds every player accountable and more so for the young guys. I’m not saying that Collins hates Turner. I just think that he’s lost that confidence and has reverted back to last year where he shows flashes but doesn’t keep with it.
soman319 - February 19, 2012
+1
splinter27 - February 19, 2012
Turner = forever +1 (gazillion)

PhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
can’thavent beenPhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
Elton Brand has been awful. I know he has been injured lately but even when healthy he was not playing close to last years level. I pray we amnesty him next off season even if the team spends no additional money. At least he won’t be there for Doug to put into games when other guys are playing better like with Vucevic the other night. I got to get my veterans in lolz.
Brannigan1973 - February 19, 2012
Agreed, but if we amnesty Brand it has to be for an impact guy because then we’ll have to give out potentially bad contracts to get to the cap floor
TheNarrator19 - February 19, 2012
Brand has statistically been one of the best post defenders in the NBA this season.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
And your point is? How many true post up threats are there in the NBA? What are the other bigs post up defense numbers? The main point is the guy doesn’t really fit on this team. He is a plodder and he is struggling on offense. Even if he is playing pretty good defense this team has been playing such good defense most nights Im comfortable going with a lesser defender for stretches if the guy is having a good night when Brand is struggling. Brand is only hear for one more year at most. Its time to start planning for him not to be here. I like Doug but he is your classic veteran coach. The veteran can do no wrong. The young player is always wrong.
Brannigan1973 - February 19, 2012
My point is that he hasn’t been terrible.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
Going further into it…
His rebound rate is the same as it was this season. His defense has been extremely good. If a difference of 2.3 points per 36 is enough to change your opinion on him then I question what you’re watching.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
How many seconds left was the foul called?
secondroundpick - February 19, 2012
When the foul was initially called? Over a second left on the clock.
An extra second ticked off the clock and the refs never even reviewed it.
Justin F. - February 19, 2012
funny when i was keeping up with the game it said “Personal Foul on A.Iguodala 00:01 remaining”
secondroundpick - February 19, 2012
It was another screwup on what was otherwise an epically bad call. There was 1.1 seconds left, time ran down (home court advantage), and it was never reviewed.
Derek Bodner - February 19, 2012
In other news,
Boston was blown out by Detroit. That’s not gonna be good for business.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
Regardless of whether or not that last play was a foul
(it wasn’t), the Sixers could have and should’ve won this game. Ugly loss, but at least there were some positives to take away, they’ll ‘bounce back’ soon and everyone will fall in love with them all over again.TwistyWristy - February 19, 2012
Honestly, we could have and should have won a lot of games.
soman319 - February 19, 2012
Eastern Conference, top 8, playoff seeding has 6 "meh" teams...
Western Conference, top 8, playoff seeding has 0 “meh” teams…
Honestly, you do the math. The West just keeps hammering on the East. Sixers fans should be grateful they get to play in that conference. Things are much different in the West.

Justin F. - February 19, 2012
For what its worth, infamous non-fan Jodie Mac just said it was an awful call on wip.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
Only 12 minutes for Turner :(
jrb5094 - February 19, 2012
Boxscore says 14 actually, still sucks. i really thought he came out playing well. Pissed.
Good game from Jrue though although I’d like some more assists, happy with him taking it to the hoop tonight.
jrb5094 - February 19, 2012
Doug-House
soman319 - February 19, 2012
Hmm this a weird post- game thread. A lot of troll anger goin on I want to talk about the game!
jrb5094 - February 19, 2012
can anyone tell me what happened in the last play of the game?
secondroundpick - February 19, 2012
Love drove at the hoop and may or may not have been fouled. Hit two FT's with .1 seconds left, then the lob attempt didn't work.
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
correct, Love drove to the hoop, got a bs foul call, hit both freethrows and the sixers sucked a big one again.
jefu - February 19, 2012
*correction
jefu - February 19, 2012
You forgot to mention that the “foul” happened with over a second left on the clock which the refs didn’t bother to check and correct.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
Can someone actually link to a video of gif?
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
who was the foul called on?
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
Iguodala.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
Foul was called on Iggy, though it was certainly undeserved.
Justin F. - February 19, 2012
Love drove, Andre reached in and depending on who you ask, he got all ball or tick-tack fouled.
STOPPER19 - February 19, 2012
At first I thought the foul was called on Brand for the body.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
same here.
STOPPER19 - February 19, 2012
to be more exact, i was asking about the sixers’ last play
secondroundpick - February 19, 2012
Oop attempt, Darko swatted it away
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
Lou took a long shot with a couple seconds left on the shot clock.
STOPPER19 - February 19, 2012
Damn man, Andre Miller is so solid. 17-7-1 TO through 3.
STOPPER19 - February 19, 2012
Guys the foul was called on Brand for the body ( with .01 second left), not Dre.
Still an outrageous call.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
With the way that the game was called, it’s whatever. We didn’t get a lot of fouls called are way on those drive attempts by our guards, while barea was getting calls on command.
soman319 - February 19, 2012
That’s not what nba.com’s play-by-play says.
yosoysean - February 19, 2012
Nor is that what Malik and Zumoff said.
Michael Levin - February 19, 2012
Really ? I thought thats how it happened from watching it the first time ( on league pass), and then listening to the radio people are saying that the call doesnt link up Iggys non foul, it happens a second later with Brand.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
DID THEY CALL TRAVELING? He took at least 3 steps.
champion64 - February 19, 2012
This game shouldn’t have come down to that last shot. The Sixers had so many chances to put this game away and simply failed to play decent offense. Too many lazy possessions where someone made a one on one move. No one challenges Minnesota inside.
This game was bad, because the Sixers should have won this won. No excuses. The team needs to play better and Collins needs to shake things up a bit because the offense is getting stale.
I also didn’t like no Vucevic at the end. Not smart Doug. Quit blaming the refs and look in the mirror.
RickoT - February 19, 2012
I looked in the mirror…. it’s my fault? :(
soman319 - February 19, 2012
lol
STOPPER19 - February 19, 2012
I know this is no consolation,
and you probably don’t want to hear anything from Wolves fans at the moment, but I really like the way the Sixers play. Nothing came easy for the Wolves tonight (especially in the first half). There were more pokes and swipes at balls than I’ve seen this season. I hope you guys bury the rest of the Eastern Conference this year. I hate the Heat, I’m bored by the Bulls, and the Celtics should be embalmed. Be well, folks.
Cynical Jason - February 19, 2012
Thanks for the good words,
and I actually like your team a little bit. But you and I both know that call at the end was a sham.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
I disagree,
but that’s immaterial and something I know I won’t change anyone’s mind on here.
Cynical Jason - February 19, 2012
Yes, but your opinion is wrong because I said so.
jefu - February 19, 2012
Can’t even argue with this.
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
And now it’s been confirmed if you look below…
jefu - February 19, 2012
Touche.
Cynical Jason - February 19, 2012
Really don’t like Dei Lynam, if that needed to be said.
Michael Levin - February 19, 2012
What’s she do now?
TheNarrator19 - February 19, 2012
chicks been around since ’nam.
STOPPER19 - February 19, 2012
her father is worse…his voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard
DirtyWaters - February 19, 2012
Apparently she has really bad breath.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
Wolves season ticket holder here...
…I like the 76ers and hope you guys can make a good run in the East. I’ve always been a fan of Doug Collins and I’m happy Iggy is getting respect this year as an elite player.
I see Evan Turner is in the dog house, what do you guys think the 76ers might be looking for in a trade for him? What about Jodie Meeks? Is there anything the Wolves have that interests you other than Love, Rubio or Pekovic?
twolvesgm2012 - February 19, 2012
Wellington and Wesley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jefu - February 19, 2012
Just Love
TheNarrator19 - February 19, 2012
He’s clear, guys. It’s a different IP address.
Michael Levin - February 19, 2012
I dont know that screen name seems like it was just made on the spot….
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
No, he's solid.
Cynical Jason - February 19, 2012
I know, i was just messin. Im still getting over that pathetic attempt of a troll we had early on. He had a backup account called “Trent Edwards HoF 2018”. Like for serious?
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
I think that’s his primary account. Had it since 2008.
Justin F. - February 19, 2012
I just checked his profile. He joined SBN January 30, 2012. Also, his the font of his username bares no resemblance to Lance Armstrong_LIVESTRONG who has spaces and multiple capital letters in all of his usernames.
Justin F. - February 19, 2012
Granted I’ve only been here for a lil over a year, but I don’t ever remember seeing so many opposing fans in these threads in one night.
STOPPER19 - February 19, 2012
we're a raucous bunch
CoffeeJanitor - February 19, 2012
Anybody see who was on Lou at the end? I think it was Ridnour but I’m not 100% sure.
Michael Levin - February 19, 2012
Yes
twolvesgm2012 - February 19, 2012
well this wasn’t the worst officiated game, right ?
secondroundpick - February 19, 2012
You Canis Hoopus Chaps seem alright.
I visited Minneapolis and St. Paul a few years ago for a wedding and I couldn’t have felt more welcome. Fine folks you have out there.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
And Jordan is trending in Philadelphia. As if this night was not strange enough.
Justin F. - February 19, 2012
I think I went to Maryland with Jordan.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
Jordan went to UNLV. Tanner went to Maryland. I went to Ithaca. Derek went to Drexel. Dave went to Niagara.
AND NOW YOU KNOW.
Michael Levin - February 19, 2012
Damn ok, good to know. I knew one of you bastards went to umd.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
The more you know…
STOPPER19 - February 19, 2012
He’s up in company with ‘Shave Your Pubes Justin’ and ‘Welcome Home David Archuleta’!
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
I have no idea how this happened. Those pictures of my pubes were never supposed to get out onto the internet like this.
Justin F. - February 19, 2012
Inexcusable
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
xEgan - February 19, 2012
Haven't seen it posted yet, so:
Video.
See 0:30 for a slow-mo, better angle that pretty clearly does show Igoudala’s hand dragging all the way across the ball and not getting the arm. A slight jersey tug by Thad but not something that would get called often at all, let alone in the final second of a one-point game.
Yeah…bad call.
everybodyhitswoohoo - February 19, 2012
Yep. This confirms it was a bs call. Now every wolves fan who was on here disputing otherwise can know the truth.
Sixers get robbed again. Not surprised anymore.
jefu - February 19, 2012
*Iguodala
1-point loss. Rage. Misspellings. They happen.
everybodyhitswoohoo - February 19, 2012
I hate superstar calls
DirtyWaters - February 19, 2012
yeah that looks like all ball.
splinter27 - February 19, 2012
Interesting how something like a video can change perspective.
jefu - February 19, 2012
Video definitely more convincing than a freezeframe :). I still think the reach is a dangerous and unnecessary play there, and I think we lost the game more because of Lou’s idiotic final shot than the foul. But it was a bad call.
splinter27 - February 19, 2012
definitely risky, and one can argue that because of that risk Iguodala should’ve known better. However, games should never come down to the refs simply because it’s bad basketball. On the other hand, Lou shouldn’t have done something so stupid that would’ve put Jrue or Turner in the doug-house for all of eternity if they had done such a thing.
jefu - February 19, 2012
Yup, agreed on both counts.
splinter27 - February 19, 2012
OMG you guys agreed on something. The loss is officially worth it.
Michael Levin - February 19, 2012
haha gotta look on the bright side right? I’m never really bothered by a loss that is caused by a LouWill bonehead play, as long as Thorn remembers this and waves bye-bye when Lou opts out.
splinter27 - February 19, 2012
It’s only worth it if we manage to not go 20-14 by the all star break.
Funny how potentially ending up six games over .500 by the “midway point” of the season would be considered bad. Our expectations for this team this season are so much more than in seasons’ past.
jefu - February 19, 2012
If we get our ish together I think we can win the next two ( Mempis and Houston)
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
at this rate, if we go 1-1 I’d be happy.
jefu - February 19, 2012
Off Topic
…but some history:
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 19, 2012
didnt wade and lebron do that last year?
YBT - February 19, 2012
no.
jefu - February 19, 2012
ok
YBT - February 19, 2012
That is just filthy. I’m rooting for them if the Sixers get eliminated. They are so likable that it’s not even funny.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
If by likable you mean white, I totally agree.
Worst loss since the Nets game – this one really hurt.
Fishtowner - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Huh?
We are talking about the Thunder right?
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
I think he's talking about the Thunder.
Cynical Jason - February 19, 2012
I am pretty sure highwaterhello was talking about the Oklahoma City Thunder, in reference to the accomplishments today of Durant and Westbrook listed above by PE. I do not need to tell you Durant and Westbrook are both black, do I?
Justin F. - February 19, 2012
Ah sorry, drunk and thought he’s talking about the Wolves.
Fishtowner - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Your hittin that Fish Town H hard, huh?
Just Kidding brah, I agree the Minnesota have some white mo’ fo’s.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
I contend that you would be correct with that candid assumption. Good day sir.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
Probably would've won this game if Turner started
Just sayin
Fishtowner - February 19, 2012
Lol
Seems legit.
highwaterhello - February 19, 2012
A major role of coaching this team is developing our young talent.
Collins is coaching selfish and ignoring his most important role – to develop Turner, Holliday and Young. Once again, Collins keeps Turner on the bench during the closing seconds where we needed the ball in his hands. He would have run out the clock and secured the win by playing smart basketball. Instead, Lou is there with the ball in his hands and doesn’t have the sense to manage the clock – not his fault, its Collins job to have everyone prepared and they were not. Turner plays well -really well – with the limited minutes Collins danes to give him despite his versatility to play 3 different positions – and he gets benched. He gets called for a foul despite playing good defense and he is yanked. I don’t care what our record is – we aren’t going anywhere if Collins continues to squander what little resources we have.
bridgecoach - February 19, 2012
Just be consistent...that's all...
Meeks is 9-for-32 from 3 over his past 7 games (28%), but he’s still getting his minutes and he’s still jacking almost 5 threes a game. If Collins has made the decision that he needs Meeks to find his stroke, and will keep giving him the minutes and shots to do that, it’s fine with me…he is trying to help Meeks rebuild his confidence and get his stroke back…just like he is doing with Turner.
Wait…
If Turner was getting the minutes and shots that Meeks has gotten the past two weeks, would that help his stroke and confidence? I don’t know if he would find his offense, but at least he would rebound, pass, handle the ball, play defense and do a bunch of other things to help the team (and some of those things at a higher level than Meeks to boot). In 14 minutes tonight, he had 7 rebounds and 3 assists – the same amount that Iggy had in FORTY minutes.
Does anybody remember EXACTLY what happened between Collins and Rip Hamilton when they were together in Washington?
bebopdeluxe - February 19, 2012
On a per-36 minute basis, Meeks is tied with Chips for the fewest shots on the team.
He may be getting more minutes than I’d like him to, but he’s actually not taking enough shots in the minutes he does get, especially later in the game.
Michael Levin - February 19, 2012
All very well said. Maybe this rut will finally convince Collins to change the lineup, but I’m not holding my breath.
I never knew what happened with Collins and Hamilton, though I can only imagine. I do remember what happened with Collins and Ratliff in Detroit, and it wasn’t pretty (well, for the Sixers it was).
splinter27 - February 19, 2012
Collins needs to get over himself.
play him, no matter what he thinks or feels should get playing time. He seems like an emotional guy who gets on a high horse and doesn’t know when to sit down and do the right thing.
