Also incredible to hear Jruth talk about growing up as a lakers fan in LA, following Kobe’s entire career, and then winning this game against them tonight. Said it was his favorite win ever.
I’m shaking right now. That was such a great comeback. They had no business winning that while getting outrebounded so badly. After Kobe’s hot start he shot them right into the loss column. Just a great win. Can’t wait to hear the pundits now.
Oh, yeah. Sixers are fun again and have been since mid-last season. I used to post here and then Eddie Jordan came along and I knew that was trouble from the get go. Can’t wait until ST. Not too long now.
ZOMG KOBEEE ONLY HAD FORPOUNTS IN THJE SEONCD HALF BECAUSRE THE GAME WAS ALREYDT WON AND YOUT SUXERS DIDNT HAS A CHAHNCE@!!!!!!!! KOEBN UIS GOOOOODDDDDD!@!!!!!
How about the fact that they were out rebounded by 25 and still attempted the same amount of shots?! I guess that’s what happens when you only turn the ball over FOUR times. By the way, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that few turnovers in a game by anyone, let alone the Sixers.
we faced a team based on one guy shooting the ball and two huge guys tipping in his rebounds, with a couple other guys there to play defense. The nature of the matchup led to both statistical iregularities.
It’s because the refs are out to get Kobe, they don’t want to recognize that he’s the greatest player ever (except for maybe Tha BOSS) and that Jordan was a punk compared to him.
pretty high. The Lakers are a high rebound/high turnover team. The Sixers are a low rebound/low turnover team. This was to be expected (although probably not as extreme as what occurred)
…a girl I work with looks exactly like her, except for the rack. I’m never going to be able to look at her the same way again. I foresee a sexual harassment suit in my immediate future :D
On another note, Andre’s foul shooting has to be mental. He’s look the catcher in Majore League 2 who couldn’t throw it back to the pitcher. Maybe we need to get him to start reciting playmate centerfolds turn-on’s and turn-off’s when he goes to the line.
The relationship between Philly fans and Bryant has been strained since the 2001 NBA finals against the Sixers, when he proclaimed he was “coming to Philly to cut their hearts out.” That began an unforgiving attitude from Sixers fanatics that continues to this day.
When commissioner David Stern presented Bryant with the All-Star game MVP trophy in 2002 in Philadelphia, the boos were long and loud, and he later admitted he was hurt.
He now feeds off Philadelphia’s official sound and delights in upsetting the home crowd.
It has to bother the Lakers that with all they did, they couldn’t out shoot Lou Williams and win the game. The Sixers are a better team than the Lakers, even though their bigs abused ours. They don’t have a guard capable of guarding Williams and when he goes off like he did in the last quarter, scoring 14 of his points in the final 12 minutes the Sixers are hard to beat. For you math heads that means Williams outscored his own team, 14-9.
I think this is the first time Lou carried the team on his back and this kind of outburst, going 4-6 and getting fouled twice and making 2 sets of free throws, is to be encouraged and praised as exactly the kind of performance that ALL STAR players have. This is a big coming out for Lou Williams a Big Time NBA player.
The Lakers lost Monday night. But Kobe enjoyed another defining moment as he moved past Shaq on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, in spite of playing in front a hostile, unforgiving, and crass Philadelphia crowd, fresh off of booing Santa.
only 66 games this season and they still have over half the season to play, but you’d think that teams should have more turnovers than usual given the compacted schedule.
Can you please stop bitching about stupid minute beauty flaws of these girls? Every single time someone posts a picture of a hot girl you complain about how ugly she is.
BOSSCON 5 = peace on earth (as distinguished from World Peace). So that could work. Focus is still on lack of negative, not actual positive energy. Which is fine with me.
I vaguely recall thread discussions about adding Green to the LWHAI. That was purely theoretical back then, but is probably in order.
Bossers gotta boss.

refs robbed them because Iguodala played damn good defense on Kobe and forced him to turn it over at crucial moments in the fourth.
jefu - February 6, 2012
Come now, you don’t go from scoring 24 points in one half to scoring 4 points the next without help from the refs :D
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
this is true. that’s got to be the only reason.
jefu - February 6, 2012
This game taught me that taking care of the ball>rebounding. If you shoot 40% and take care of the ball, you win.
Dan Pearson - February 6, 2012
the question is, what’s more likely, getting out-rebounded that badly or only having four turnovers in a game?
jefu - February 6, 2012
neither
we faced a team based on one guy shooting the ball and two huge guys tipping in his rebounds, with a couple other guys there to play defense. The nature of the matchup led to both statistical iregularities.
Dan Pearson - February 6, 2012
but what are the chances it would lead to those two extremes?
jefu - February 6, 2012
It’s because the refs are out to get Kobe, they don’t want to recognize that he’s the greatest player ever (except for maybe Tha BOSS) and that Jordan was a punk compared to him.
I’m too tired to do the damn caps thing again :D
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
Sixers didn’t win this. Lakers actually lost it.
jefu - February 6, 2012

dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
Lakers are worst in the league in forcing turnovers. If ever there was to have an epic “take care of the ball” game, this was going to be it.
Derek Bodner - February 6, 2012
Ah good point, I completely forgot about that fact regarding the Laker’s forced turnover rate.
TwistyWristy - February 6, 2012
basically yeah
Dan Pearson - February 7, 2012
pretty high. The Lakers are a high rebound/high turnover team. The Sixers are a low rebound/low turnover team. This was to be expected (although probably not as extreme as what occurred)

The Crooked Man - February 7, 2012
Oh shit. I forgot. Mike Brown was out. Fluke Win!
TitansJonne - February 6, 2012
Is Mike Brown a 20 ppg superstar?
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
he instills 20ppg awesomeness in all of his players. Especially Jason Kapono.
jefu - February 6, 2012
He would have choke slammed the refs for fouls called against Lou. So win doesn’t count.
BrandonB - February 6, 2012
Sprewell is his body guard.
jefu - February 6, 2012
Yes, particularly superstar Krapono, who couldn’t even crack Eddie Jordan’s rotation :)
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
he made me crack my head against the wall everytime he passed up a three because it wasn’t wide open.
jefu - February 6, 2012
RickoT - February 6, 2012
Love Pau’s face on the bench when Dre hit that circus shot +1
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 6, 2012
I wonder why there isn't a Espn Philadelphia
despite being the 5th biggest market in the U.S.
I know we are bigger than Dallas….
BIBTD - February 6, 2012
I have wondered that as well.
Ben16 - February 6, 2012
Because everyone hates Philly, especially a network primarily focused on New York and Boston teams.
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
I think it has to do with the Fanatic
ESPN radio is full-time in those other cities, right?
TheAL76 - February 6, 2012
They have espn radio Atlantic City or whatever…
BrandonB - February 6, 2012
I have wondered this too. I mean they have Chicago. Chicago.
TwistyWristy - February 6, 2012
I know someone who works at ESPN and from what I’ve been told when they add more cities Philly is at the top of the list.
youaretheman26 - February 6, 2012
anti-philly bias
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 6, 2012
If Im not mistaken there has been casual talk about this inside ESPN. Trust me they know about the Philadelphia market. .

TwistyWristy - February 6, 2012
You never see them in the same room together, do you?
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
anyone else notice that George Washington looks like that guy on the dollar bill?
jefu - February 6, 2012
You never see them in the same room together, either…
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
Quote of the night.
BIBTD - February 6, 2012
2000 shots? That’s like three games for Kobe, pretty much.
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
lol
plus, consider the fact that shaq never shot from outside 5 feet
Dan Pearson - February 6, 2012
He missed like 2,000 + free throws.
BIBTD - February 6, 2012
can’t compare a shooting guard’s shot attempts to a center.
jefu - February 6, 2012
true
tst29 - February 6, 2012
Fair enough.
but it’s like saying Carmelo Anthony is good despite taking 34 shots to make 17 points.
BIBTD - February 6, 2012
Carmelo Anthony is an All-Star!!! That’s all that matters!!! :D
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
not at all
Dan Pearson - February 6, 2012
except Kobe’s been more efficient throughout his career.

This one sentence...
…defines the entire ESPN/Philly dynamic:
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
I hate this….. so much.
highwaterhello - February 6, 2012
The beauty is, the caption was “Kobe tops Shaq.” I didn’t know Shaq played for the Sixers. My bad.
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
There’s no mention of who beat the Lakers. The picture is just Kobe cuddling with one of his teammates. It’s a beautiful thing.
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
I can’t wait until we win the NBA Championships. :)
soman319 - February 6, 2012

BrandonB - February 6, 2012
How about?
I believe he’s showing his displeasure that he eats Kobe Bean Bryant’s butt first.
BIBTD - February 6, 2012
My favorite was
“Who the hell does Williams think he is!”. That’s great because I’m sure Levin has written that 10 times equally as angry on this blog.
Dpez71 - February 6, 2012
He should have proper respect for the Lakers and allow them to win, because they are the superior beings.
dweebowitz - February 6, 2012
Wow.
PhiladelphiaEagles - February 6, 2012
Only four turnovers tonight which was absolutely amazing.
TwistyWristy - February 6, 2012
only 66 games this season and they still have over half the season to play, but you’d think that teams should have more turnovers than usual given the compacted schedule.
jefu - February 6, 2012
Something that I haven't seen mentioned, the Sixers won a close game!
KJ Brophy - February 6, 2012
this is how picture iso boss during the beat LA chants (because i had it on the radio)

Eww.
I’ll take the two girls behind her though (faces shown).
BIBTD - February 6, 2012
Can you please stop bitching about stupid minute beauty flaws of these girls? Every single time someone posts a picture of a hot girl you complain about how ugly she is.
tst29 - February 6, 2012
that girl’s the centerpiece of the cheerleading squad. She’s probably second hottest next to the asian girl.
jefu - February 6, 2012
Billups jus tore his Achilles making the Clippers game not count =(
xEgan - February 6, 2012
Tonight
I missed the entire game, but it’s always good to get a bunch of “Louuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu” texts. Great win.
Rebounding is overrated.
Dave Rueter - February 6, 2012
how about the incessant whining about the refs? that was pretty classic
Dan Pearson - February 6, 2012
No Mike Brown?
Doesn’t Count.
pman8 - February 6, 2012
This is why Lebron is better than Kobe.
tst29 - February 6, 2012
Can we get a LWLAI?
Lou Williams Love Advisory Index?
Scott Kenny - February 6, 2012
Nope. Gotta at least change the name to distinguish it.
Michael Levin - February 6, 2012
Could just go with BOSS DEFCON levels.
philsandthrills - February 6, 2012
BOSSCON 5 = peace on earth (as distinguished from World Peace). So that could work. Focus is still on lack of negative, not actual positive energy. Which is fine with me.
I vaguely recall thread discussions about adding Green to the LWHAI. That was purely theoretical back then, but is probably in order.
