Craig Brackins sent to the D-League

According to Slam, the Sixers have assigned Craig Brackins to the Sixers D-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.

Brackins, the 21st overall pick who the Sixers acquired along with Darius Songaila for Willie Green and Jason Smith, averaged 20.1 points and 8.6 rebounds on 44% from the field and 24.7% from three point range in 18 games in the D-League last year.

Brackins has appeared in a total of 11 games in his NBA career, averaging 1.2 points in 5 plus minutes per game.

Makes sense

With Allen having moved ahead of him on the frontcourt depth chart, he wasn’t even going to get garbage time minutes in Philly. The question I have is, could there be another shoe to drop here?

darn you allen

Is it weird that the guy who placed the shovel is an adult?

getting sent to the D league is better than if the sixers had RELEASED THE KRACKEN!

We’ll certainly miss you standing around in the perimeter for 4 minutes during the graveyard shift and your fauxhawk.

wow that trade was nothing for nothing.

Not really. It was worth not having to play Willie Green 20 mpg and have him take away minutes from Meeks, Turner and Holiday.

Its better for Brackins to get playing experience then just sitting on the bench.

The thing is this doesn’t mean they are making any moves. I believe in the CBA it states that D league players still count as roster spots and they used their last one on Frozone.

The D league provides Brackins with pro experience, which is more beneficial than being a practice body and gravedigger in Philly. He’ll never become much of a player, but that doesn’t mean he can’t tune his game enough to be a viable 10th, 11th, or 12th man
